#JustIn: Bulk of goods exported by sea
Goods worth N$6.8 billion, accounting for 52.8% of total exports, were shipped out by sea in June, the Namibia Statistics Agency (NSA) says in its latest trade report.
The main exports via sea included uranium, fish, as well as copper.
Goods transported by air constituted 26.7% of total exports, primarily consisting of diamonds and gold.
Road transportation accounted for 20.5% of exports, with fish, petroleum oils and live animals being the primary commodities moved.
In terms of volume, 281 689 tonnes of goods were exported, up 4.9% from May and down 48% from June 2023.
A total of 162 743 tonnes of goods were transported by road during the month under review, up 8% from the previous month and 14.6% from June 2023.
A total of 118 821 tonnes of goods were shipped by sea in June, up 0.9% from May and down 70.3% from June 2023.
