O&L Group enhances Namibian travel with new aircraft fleet

Imagine seamlessly gliding over Namibia's breathtaking landscapes, arriving in style and comfort at your exclusive destination. This vision is now a reality as O&L Leisure unveils its expanded private flight service with the addition of two new aircraft. This strategic move not only enhances access to their premium portfolio – including the reimagined Mokuti Etosha and the iconic Strand Hotel Swakopmund – but also signals a bold step in redefining luxury travel experiences across Namibia and realizing the O&L Group's ambitious Vision 2029.

In addition to the Beechcraft 1900 V5-SAN, which is a 14-passenger twin-engine turboprop ideal for group travel and the Cirrus SR22 V5-SGB, the newly acquired fleet now also includes a King Air B350 V5-DAN – a new generation aircraft designed for mid-sized groups up to 8 passengers and executive charters and a Cirrus SR22 V5-SLK – a sleek, modern aircraft crafted for private travel with personalised comfort.

The development marks a significant step in O&L Leisure’s strategic repositioning as a premium provider of authentic, luxury travel experiences. As part of the Group’s broader Vision 2029 growth strategy, these acquisitions not only enhance access to our current portfolio (the newly re-imagined Mokuti Etosha, the iconic Strand Hotel Swakopmund, the exclusive Chobe Water Villas in the Zambezi Region and the beloved Midgard – a treasured destination for generations, set in the heart of the beautiful Otjihavera Mountains just outside Windhoek) but also pave the way for future expansion into other handpicked, unique locations across Namibia.

By offering seamless, private connections, the new fleet redefines how guests experience Namibia: enjoying world-class service and comfort from the very outset of their journey.

Whether soaring above the shimmering Etosha pans, skimming the rugged coastline or touching down amidst the lush waterways of the Zambezi Region, guests will now be able to immerse themselves even more deeply in Namibia’s unparalleled natural beauty, culture and hospitality.

Sven Thieme, O&L group executive chairman and managing director of O&L Leisure said the acquisition of the aircraft would help the group fulfill its mandate.

“Our vision has always been to share Namibia through our eyes - and to do so with

authenticity, care and passion. These new aircraft are an extension of that vision. They enable thoughtfully curated journeys that reveal the full richness of our country’s landscapes, cultures and heritage,” Thieme said.

“More than just a means of travel, they symbolise our commitment to crafting exceptional, transformative experiences for the discerning traveller. This investment reinforces our ambition to elevate the Namibian tourism offering to new heights and to help bring our Vision 2029 strategy to life,” he added.
