Capricorn launches free online course to boost food security

Plot to Plate, an initiative of the Capricorn Foundation, has launched a free, open-access online video course designed to equip Namibians with practical skills to grow their own food and strengthen community resilience.

The course introduces participants to permaculture practices, teaching sustainable gardening techniques that work with nature to improve soil health, conserve water, and grow nutritious food in both urban and rural settings.

The 14-lesson course features engaging videos, interactive quizzes, and step-by-step guidance, allowing learners to start their own food-growing projects at their own pace.

“Food security is one of Namibia’s most pressing challenges. By giving people the tools to produce food sustainably, Plot to Plate supports self-reliant communities while protecting natural resources,” said Marlize Horn, Executive Officer of the Capricorn Foundation.

The course is open to all Namibians interested in sustainable living and can be accessed online at https://learn.living-earth.africa
