Deep Yellow moves bids online
Deep Yellow is moving procurement for its Namibian operations online, requiring suppliers to register on a new digital platform to access tenders, requests for quotations and other sourcing opportunities.
The uranium developer said its e-procurement system would cover purchasing by Reptile Mineral Resources and Exploration and Reptile Uranium Namibia.
Registration on the WebPortunities platform is free, with suppliers encouraged to register early to avoid missing upcoming opportunities.
The company said the platform would provide access to current tenders and RFQs, Smart Online Catalogue opportunities, electronic purchase orders, as well as contracts and supplier performance records.
Manual issuing of RFQs, tenders and purchase orders will be "progressively phased out" as procurement moves to the digital system.
Suppliers will need to link their profiles to the relevant materials, services and brands they offer, allowing Deep Yellow to identify them through its supplier search system.
They will also have to upload required corporate and statutory documents and keep their ownership and employment demographic information up to date.
Deep Yellow said the information would support regulatory reporting requirements and help ensure suppliers remained compliant.
The system has been implemented with Tara Nawa Computer Software Solutions.
Suppliers can register at www.webportunities.net and use the site's "Contact Us" function for assistance with registration or navigation.
