New operations head for Standard Bank

Standard Bank Namibia this week announced the appointment of Rejoice Itembu as Executive: Operations, effective 1 March 2026.

Itembu is a seasoned banking executive with more than 15 years’ leadership experience spanning retail banking, business & commercial banking, digital transformation, client solutions, insurance, public relations, and strategic operations.

Throughout her career at Standard Bank Namibia, she has consistently delivered strong business outcomes, strengthened client experience, and driven key initiatives that advanced the Bank’s digital and operational agenda.

In her most recent role as Executive: Insurance, Itembu oversaw the Bank’s insurance businesses, delivering strong financial performance, improved client advocacy, and the rollout of several digital innovations within the insurance ecosystem.

Itembu’s broad experience includes driving end‑to‑end process improvements, delivering major digital enhancements, leading client‑centric initiatives, and steering high‑impact bank‑wide projects. Her ability to combine strategic vision with operational discipline has positioned her as a key contributor to Standard Bank Namibia’s transformation journey.

She holds a Master’s Degree in Media and Cultural Studies from the University of Sussex and a Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies and Sociology from the University of Namibia. Rejoice has also served on several governance and risk committees within the Bank, contributing to strengthened oversight and organisational effectiveness.

Her appointment enhances the Bank’s leadership capability in operational excellence, digital enablement, and execution of Standard Bank Namibia’s strategic priorities.
