Old Mutual empowers Otjiwarongo Help Centre

The Old Mutual Foundation, through its Executive Discretionary Fund, has provided essential educational and office resources valued at N$24,812.53 to the Otjiwarongo Multi-Purpose Help Centre (OMPHC). This contribution strengthens the Centre’s capacity to support vulnerable children and families within the Otjiwarongo community.

The handover was conducted by Logan Fransman, Old Mutual Namibia Group Chief Operating Officer, on behalf of the Old Mutual Foundation. The donation, part of the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to community upliftment and social development, comprised a range of practical equipment and stationery. These items included office furniture, a multifunction business printer, printer cartridges, copy paper, whiteboards, binding materials, and heavy-duty office tools such as staplers and paper punches. These resources will directly support the Centre’s administrative, educational, and daily operational requirements.

Operating since 2003, the Otjiwarongo Multi-Purpose Help Centre provides critical services, including daily meals, educational support, school uniforms, counselling, hygiene programmes, and community awareness initiatives for orphans, vulnerable children, and struggling families.

Speaking at the handover, Fransman noted that the contribution reflects Old Mutual’s belief in empowering organisations that deliver tangible grassroots impact.

“The Otjiwarongo Multi-Purpose Help Centre plays a vital role in supporting vulnerable members of the community. Through the Old Mutual Foundation’s Executive Discretionary Fund, we are pleased to contribute resources that will strengthen the Centre’s day-to-day operations and enhance the support it provides to children and families,” Fransman said.

He added that meaningful partnerships with community-based organisations are essential to creating sustainable social impact. “By supporting organisations that are deeply rooted in their communities, we are investing in long-term resilience and helping to create environments where dignity, care, and opportunity can thrive.”

The Old Mutual Foundation continues to focus on initiatives that promote education, health, and social development across Namibia, with a strong emphasis on practical interventions that deliver lasting community benefits.
