MTC gains Huawei enterprise status

MTC Namibia has registered as a Huawei Enterprise Partner, bolstering its position as the country's leading digital solutions provider and expanding its access to Huawei's global technology portfolio.

The registration places MTC within Huawei's Enterprise Business Solution Partner Programme, a structured three-tier framework — certified, preferred, and advantage — designed for independent software and hardware vendors seeking to build industry-specific solutions on Huawei's infrastructure. Partners at higher tiers receive greater access to Huawei's technological, marketing, and sales resources.

The new status gives MTC access to Huawei's enterprise offerings, including connectivity solutions, cloud technologies, digital infrastructure, intelligent networking, and business transformation platforms — spanning sectors such as oil and gas, banking, government, healthcare, and smart city development.

"This new development expands our partnership and allows MTC to have access to Huawei's globally recognised enterprise portfolio," MTC's Chief Brand, Marketing, Communications and Sustainability Officer Tim Ekandjo said. "This will strengthen our ability to deliver technology solutions that meet the changing needs of Namibian businesses and institutions."

Ekandjo said the development aligns with MTC's role as a national asset charged with driving the digital economy, and that the company was positioning itself to support key sectors including government, mining, oil and gas, financial services, and the broader corporate market.

"The achieved status with Huawei thus increases our capacity to design, deploy, and innovate for improved competitiveness in enterprise solutions," he said.

MTC described the partnership as more than a technology alliance, saying it reflects a shared commitment to Namibia's digital enablement and sustainable economic development. The telco said combining its understanding of the local market with Huawei's global expertise would help accelerate solutions aligned with national development priorities.

"This development is aligned with MTC's ambition and efforts of becoming a trusted end-to-end technology partner for enterprises across Namibia," Ekandjo said.
