SanlamAllianz honours Namibia's untold journeys

SanlamAllianz has launched Proud Moments, a nationwide campaign celebrating the personal journeys behind Namibians' life milestones and achievements.

The initiative invites members of the public to nominate individuals whose resilience, determination and perseverance deserve recognition.

Dr Evans Simataa, general manager for brand and people at SanlamAllianz, said recognition was often rare for people who achieved lifelong dreams without the means to celebrate with those who supported them along the way.

"Recognition is often rare. For many people, life's financial pressures mean that even when they achieve a lifelong dream, there is little opportunity to celebrate with those who helped make it possible," said Simataa.

He said many Namibians pursued their goals far from home, crossing cities, regions and borders in search of a better future, while others overcame personal and professional challenges without their journeys ever being known, often celebrating their successes alone.

Through Proud Moments, SanlamAllianz invites Namibians to nominate themselves or someone else, whether a parent graduating after years of sacrifice, a young entrepreneur who persisted against setbacks, someone who overcame illness to reach a goal, or a colleague whose resilience motivates those around them. Simataa said no story was too small and no achievement too large to be recognised.

Selected stories will be developed into features and celebrated publicly, giving individuals and their families an opportunity to mark the moment together.

"We want to do more than tell these stories. We want to shine a spotlight on them, celebrate them with the people who stood by them, and invest in the communities in which we operate by recognising the strength, determination, and support that often go unseen," said Simataa.

The campaign forms part of SanlamAllianz's Live with Confidence positioning, which the company links to the belief in personal goals despite uncertainty and the resolve to continue through setbacks.

Nominations open from today. Members of the public can nominate themselves or others by outlining the story behind the achievement, the journey involved, the people who supported it and why the moment deserves recognition. SanlamAllianz said nomination details and dates would be announced on its social media platforms in the coming weeks.
