SanlamAllianz hosts "Running Smarter" Workshop

SanlamAllianz successfully hosted its "Running Smarter in Namibia" workshop on 26 February 2026, bringing together runners, health professionals, and performance experts. The engagement focused on injury prevention, recovery, longevity, and overall wellness as part of the organisation’s ongoing effort to support healthier communities through education.

The primary objective of the session was to equip runners with practical, expert-driven guidance on how to train effectively while sustaining long-term participation in the sport. The workshop highlighted that successful running relies not only on physical endurance but also on a resilient mind.

The session delivered a holistic understanding of the sport, featuring insights from physiotherapists, endurance athletes, coaches, and a clinical psychologist. Participants received comprehensive guidance covering everything from warm-up routines and injury management to mental discipline and motivation.

Attendees gained practical tools for recovery, including specific stretching and mobility exercises, alongside tips on recognising the early signs of physical strain. The mental wellness component explored how running and injuries influence emotional health, providing strategies to manage stress and maintain psychological resilience throughout a fitness journey.

Overall, the workshop aimed to strengthen participant confidence by encouraging them to listen to their bodies, fuel correctly, and avoid overtraining. By adopting sustainable habits, runners are better prepared for upcoming events, such as the SanlamAllianz Coastal Marathon. SanlamAllianz said it remains dedicated to fostering a culture of wellness and empowering Namibians to take care of their long-term health.
