Green Helmet applications open

Northern Ocean, in partnership with ICM Group Namibia, has opened applications for the Green Helmet Programme, a fully sponsored entry-level training initiative aimed at preparing Namibians for careers in the offshore drilling sector.

The two-week intensive programme targets first-time entrants to the offshore industry and focuses on health, safety and environmental (HSE) standards, as well as basic operational awareness aligned with international requirements. The training will take place in Walvis Bay from 10 March 2026 and will accommodate 12 participants at no cost.

Applicants must be aged between 20 and 30, hold a vocational qualification or an engineering degree, be medically fit, and be Namibian citizens or permanent residents.

Applications must be submitted via the official career portal at q.my.na/9JRY. The closing date is 13 February 2026 at 14:00 GMT +2.

Northern Ocean owns the Deepsea Mira semi-submersible rig, which is currently operating offshore in Namibia’s Orange Basin.
