Namibia Airports Company strengthens risk resilience with support from Capricorn Group
On Tuesday, 29 April 2025, the Namibia Airports Company (NAC) strengthened its enterprise-wide risk management capabilities through a strategic partnership with Capricorn Group. The partnership aims to build on existing institutional resilience and embed a proactive risk-aware culture.
Facilitated by Horst Simon, Capricorn Group's Business Risk Officer and globally recognised Risk Culture Builder, the Risk Management Workshop forms part of the Company’s Social Investment programme, which enables long-term value creation through knowledge-sharing and capacity-building.
Held in Windhoek, the workshop supports NAC’s commitment to aligning its internal systems and leadership capabilities with global standards in aviation governance and strategic risk management. Horst Simon, Capricorn Group Business Risk Officer, said, “Building an effective Risk Culture is key to the successful management and optimisation of risk management in any organisation” NAC Chief Executive Officer(CEO) , Bisey /Uirab emphasised his organisation’s commitment to ensuring the highest safety and security standards for all passengers. He remarked,
“We are happy to partner with the Capricorn Group and we aim to ensure safe and secure passage for our passengers through improved risk management systems. We acknowledge that risks are always present despite the amount of work we have already done. We are grateful to the Capricorn Group for spending time with us and discussing some of these concepts. It always helps to get someone from the outside to help you look at what you are looking at."
