Bank Windhoek crowns top dealerships
Bank Windhoek celebrated top-performing dealer partners at its Northern Selekt Sales Awards in Oshakati, spotlighting a revival in Namibia's vehicle market and the bank's role in delivering responsible finance for households and businesses.
The ceremony on 15 April recognised dealerships and sales professionals for their standout results in 2025. It underscores Bank Windhoek's drive for partnership-led growth in the motoring sector, rewarding professionalism and customer service that enable vital mobility.
Namibia logged 14 494 vehicle sales in 2025, the strongest since 2015, with momentum carrying into 2026. January alone saw 1,005 units sold, the best since 2016 and up 4% year-on-year, said Mire Christof, the bank's regional manager for the Far North.
Demand in the north remains robust for rugged pickups (bakkies), SUVs and commercial vehicles, powering farming, transport, construction and cross-border trade. "More small businesses are financing vehicles to expand and create jobs, while customers seek faster digital tools," Christof said.
In the Overall Dealership category, Indongo Toyota Ongwediva took gold, Pupkewitz Toyota Oshakati silver, and Pupkewitz Volkswagen North bronze. For Top Salesperson, Nikanor Shindombo of Indongo Toyota Ongwediva earned gold, Hendrik Johannes of the same dealership silver, and Elvis Kautjituavi of Pupkewitz Toyota Oshakati bronze.
Winners praised Bank Windhoek's relationship-focused approach and consistent recognition. "In the north, vehicles are productive assets, not just conveniences," Christof said. "We must deliver speed, transparency and responsibility amid rising expectations."
Looking to 2026, Christof anticipates infrastructure projects and regional trade boosting demand, but stressed disciplined risk management against pressures like fuel costs. Priorities include broader financing access, enhanced affordability and stronger local partnerships.
