Nedbank Namibia receives 6 th Commerzbank STP Award

Nedbank Namibia has received Commerzbank's 2025 Straight Through Processing (STP) Award, marking its sixth such honour and underscoring its reliability in international payments.

The award, given annually to top correspondent banks worldwide, recognises excellence in processing commercial payments and financial transfers with minimal errors. Winners are selected based on strict global standards for data accuracy, completeness and formatting, allowing automated handling without manual fixes.

Global STP rates for cross-border payments average just 26%, with even lower figures of 80-85% or below in Africa and other emerging markets due to fragmented infrastructure, multiple currencies and regulatory hurdles.

Nedbank Namibia previously won in 2012, 2014, 2021, 2022 and 2024.

Selma Kaulinge, the bank's communications manager, said: "This award from Commerzbank speaks to our ethos of being money experts who do good. It demonstrates that global best practice, precision and reliability can be delivered from Namibia into the world. By reducing friction in cross-border payments, we help our clients trade, invest and grow with confidence, contributing positively to economic activity while upholding the highest standards of integrity and excellence."
