Leadership changes for Bank Windhoek, NUST
The World Bank Group has appointed Stefano Mocci as its new country manager for Namibia, tasking him with leading the institution's engagement across the World Bank (IBRD), the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA).
Mocci said he was "honoured" to take up the role at what he described as an important moment for Namibia, as the country implements its sixth National Development Plan (NDP6) and pursues its development priorities across sectors.
He will work with the Namibian government, the private sector, civil society and development partners to support the country's development and economic transformation goals.
Bank Windhoek appoints new chief treasurer
Bank Windhoek has appointed Ian Erlank as chief treasurer, effective from 1 July 2026, the bank announced on Monday.
Erlank has more than 20 years of experience in treasury, financial markets, investments and executive leadership. In his new role, he will oversee the bank's treasury function, including liquidity, funding, capital markets activity and foreign exchange.
Bank Windhoek MD James Chapman said the appointment reflected the bank's commitment to strong leadership in a specialised and strategically important part of the business.
"Treasury plays a central role in safeguarding the bank's financial strength and supporting our ability to serve clients with confidence," Chapman said. He added that Erlank brought "exceptional market knowledge, proven leadership and a strong understanding of the Namibian financial landscape."
Erlank holds a postgraduate diploma in futures studies from the University of Stellenbosch Business School and a Bachelor of Commerce degree in economics from the University of Pretoria. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), holds a certificate in fintech from Harvard, and has an ACI Dealing Certificate from the ACI Financial Markets Association.
